Getting Married in 2024? Here are 6 Top Wedding Trends
If you’re planning to get married next year, you’ll want to know what the latest trends are from alternative wedding venues to retro styling…
1. Eco-conscious and sustainable
More and more wedding couples are trying not to negatively impact the environment these days. What should you consider? Hiring or buying second-hand instead of buying new is a great thing to consider. From your wedding attire to the plates you eat off, there are many ways of reusing things. Ask your venue what elements are or could be eco-friendly. Ask your caterer if the food is locally sourced. Can your décor be made from recycled items or can it be reused afterwards?
2. Outdoor/alternative wedding venue
Get ahead of the curve and book an alternative venue. From hiring a field for a marquee, having a tipi in a wood, being barefoot on a beach, hiring a barn, to having a wedding in your back garden, a big trend is adding non-traditional elements to the wedding. Using elements from nature as part of your wedding décor is also becoming more popular. And if the British weather turns on you make sure wherever you choose has a bad weather option!

3. Budget conscious wedding and pre wedding celebrations
Whilst everyone is tightening their belts at the moment, wedding celebrations are no exception. But couples still want to celebrate in style! So how can you save on your budget without eliminating your guests?! Think about going to a venue that has packages that you can amend to suit you. For example, is there a budget drinks option; can you opt for a cheaper style of catering such as street food; check what facilities are included – for example in an outdoor venue is the price of toilets, seating and ceremony items included? Is there accommodation and or a room for the bridal party to get ready available? Don’t get fooled by a low-price venue – they might not include everything you need!
Pre-wedding celebrations are also under consideration – The trend towards home grown stag and hen celebrations rather than going abroad is on the rise.
4. Bold colour
Weddings should be white? No! Colour is in for 2024. From wild festival style colours to single brights (magenta is a big upcoming trend), the tendency is moving away from white and neutrals in the décor and flowers. Colour is uplifting and joyous and can set the mood to party the night away with friends and family.

5. Retro style
Disco is a big trend for next year! The 70’s and 80’s are back with big shoulders and sequins to 70’s food offerings (prawn cocktail, anyone?). Fancy arriving in a Ford Capri or a Jaguar XJ S or even an original Mini? From the clothes to the music and the general vibe, retro style is coming back.
6. Wedding Celebrant led ceremony
A celebrant led wedding is more flexible, inclusive and can be done anywhere so it’s no surprise that it is rising in popularity! And it can be totally personal to you, your values and your love.
